M107901 Sunshine Cards (Summer, Winter, Equinoctial) for Use In Latitudes Up to 65 Deg N or S by Casella

The length of daylight in certain areas can be an important piece of information in understanding the behavior of crop growth and other natural phenomena.

The Casella Campbell Stokes pattern Sunshine recorder is an easy way to monitor this parameter. In this method a light sensitive card is placed in the recorder and the light is focused into a point that “burns” a trace into the card. The cards are printed with graduations clearly marked in hours.

Different latitudes require different shaped cards to suit the angle of the sunshine so the following packs of cards are available for use.

A different shaped card is used for the summer, winter and equinoctial recording season. Be sure to use the correct card for the appropriate time of the year.

Three different sets of cards are provided to last for a full year, 200 summer cards, 200 winter cards and 100 equinoctial cards.

Key Benefits

  • Easy placement of the card in the sunshine recorder
  • Read off the length of the trace with convenient ruler
  • Use with the appropriate Casella sunshine recorder for tropical or temperate latitudes up to 65° North or South
  • Supplied in complete packs
  • Use one card per day of observation
  • Cards can be filed for archival purposes
  • Enough cards for a full year of monitoring
