We have Gas Alert Micro 5 and having hard time trying to calibrate the ICO, the message I am getting is gas not detected even with a new tank. I am using a new hose and everything is clear in the hose but still getting this message even after calibrating the other 4 levels. It is just this one that will not calibrate. What am I doing wrong.
1 Answer
Hi Bob, This sounds like the CO sensor has failed and will need to be replaced. The replacement sensor is the PS-RM04. Once you get this sensor and install it into the instrument you will need to calibrate it.

I use the Micro 5 detector. I have activated the Due Lock of the monitor and in the beginning it asks me for the passcode. How can I factory reset the device to remove this?
1 Answer
Your Micro 5 should have a default pass code of 1007. If you have changed the pass code on the monitor, the only way to remove that setting is through the MicroDock II and Fleet Manager software. If you have a MicroDock then you can plug it in to your computer and use the option "Configure Device Via MicroDock" to adjust settings like that.

Terrible product
March 27, 2014
Very finicky and high maintenance. These are cheap meters but they are very problematic. Always having to calibrate, replace sensors, troubleshoot micro dock bump tests - it never ends! Technical support line is very helpful, the product is just terrible!

This is a device that is supposed to protect the lives of those who use it! Do NOT buy these meters! MSA all the way!
Pros
  • Cheap & good technical service
Cons
  • Technical service needed all the time!
  • problematic
  • "background noise" in fresh air environments
  • inaccurate & scary
