how is this unit calibrated? I have a Microclip XL combustible gas meter with Oxygen and LEL. We calibrate with your gas CG2-JX-2.2-34 Dual Gas CH4 (2.2%/50% LEL), O2, (18%) balance Nitrogen. Will this work.

Hello Mark! It depends on what sensors your PID monitor has. A lot of them are set up as 5-gas monitors, O2/LEL/CO/H2S/PID. This would need a 4-gas cylinder an Isobutylene gas cylinder. What senors do you have in your PID monitor?

Dear Rishpal, Thank you for contacting JJS! The Gas Alert Micro 5 PID doesn't use IR for communication with the computer. Instead the Gas Alert Micro 5 series of gas monitors uses an internal SD card. This is the same type of card that is used in items such as digital cameras. To access this card you would remove the batter pack from the instrument. You will then see the card inserted into the instrument. Simply remove the card and plug into a computer with a SD card reader and you will be able to download the data from the card. If you are looking for an IR adapter for one of the other models of BW multi-gas monitors such as the Gas Alert Micro Clip XT or Gas Alert Max XT then the part number for that item would be GA-USB1-IR on this page http://www.jjstech.com/ga-usb1-ir.html. BW has specified that this is the only infrared adapter that should be used with these instruments.
