Thank you for directing me to this detector. Does it really read H2S concentration accurately down to 0 ppm? If I just use it to detect the presence and the difference in concentration of H2S in different parts of a room as to pinpoint the source of sewer gas, do I still have to calabrate it ? The accuracy in ppm is not important to me.

Do these new models not have a internal clock timer that runs out in 2 or 3 years?
    1 Answer
The GasAlert Extreme has an internal clock. It does not turn itself off after 2 or 3 years, though. The GasAlert Clip Extreme comes in 2 or 3 year maintenance-free models that would do that. The GasAlert Extreme will stay active but will require calibration every 6 months.
